The Religion of ancient egypt
The Ancient Egyptians religion was very unique. The Ancient Egyptian's religion was based on Polytheistic beliefs. If you practice Polytheistic beliefs, you believe in more than one god. They believed in over 2,000 gods and goddesses. Their gods and goddesses were “represented as part human and part animal.” For example, the Egyptian god of the sky, Horus was represented as half human and half hawk. The Ancient Egyptian's made one of the first forms of literature, the “Book of the Dead.” The Ancient Egyptians believed in the afterlife, so they spent a lot of time preparing for it. They built temples for the gods and believed each person has three souls.
The Arts of AncIENT EGYPT
The Ancient Egyptians were very artistic and were great at being it. Their “great architectural achievements” are built of stone from the past. The people were great at building tombs and pyramids. Inside of the temples the Ancient Egyptians built, they drew drawings of “everyday life, models of people and animals, glass figures and containers and jewelry.” Also, they sculpted statues and sculptures of their gods, goddesses and leaders.
Slavery in ancient egypt
There is an argument on whether Ancient Egypt on whether slavery existed in Ancient Egypt. Some Ancient Egyptians were sold into slavery because of debt. Some Ancient Egyptians also sold themselves into slavery to escape poverty. Slaves of Ancient Egypt that had a written contract did not lose any of their civil rights. Slaves could also be treated as property and be sold or given as a gift. Furthermore, slaves could be handed down through a family line.
